hochgerner@zsi.atThe term Social Innovation is not exhaustively defined.
We expect from a WG on social innovation in DARIAH to build communities of scientific research on issues related to the relevance of ICT and digital science for social innovation, and to collectively improve standards of science, education and research in these areas.
By doing so, we aim to contribute to a better understanding for “digital” Arts- and Humanities-Culture in general.
The working group aims to contribute by cross-disciplinary, cross-sector and international collaboration to the formation of infrastructures for better comprehension and advancement of social innovation, strengthening three pillars of an emerging social innovation system (as part of existing European and national RTDI system) :
The working group considers the utmost significance of social innovations in the 21st century in enabling the knowledge society to make socially beneficial use of the vast potency of its economy – as part of society. Working towards such a broad vision, ICT and digital science (with implications on and by employing, e.g., citizen science, open access and data, all forms of innovation) play a major role as enablers of social and cultural change.
